After having released the very well received 'Remarkable Events' album on Winter-Light, 'Kloob' returns again to our label with his new full length album 'Unpredictable Signs'. Through the use of voices, field recordings and synthesisers we are once again invited to dive deep in to the music of 'Kloob'. 

Initially the feel on this new work is of a much more minimal approach, compared with that of 'Remarkable Events'. However, once you begin to settle in to the album, you realise that the electronic terrains of 'Unpredictable Signs' are more subtly created and vast than on it's predecessor. Beautifully effected synth sweeps and lo-fi bass drones and rumbles, paint an infinite pattern of oncoming musical landscapes, stretching as far across the horizon, as the musical eye can see to. 

Conceived and recorded against the backdrop and with the shift of current world events in mind, Dani Kloob tells us a little of the thoughts behind his new album..... 

'Unpredictable Signs. The current global uncertainty all around us. A sign of the times. What is to be expected in the near future? It is the mystery that will always be here.

35 years ago, LE SYNDICAT began sculpting sounds with a particular creative perspective. 
Although historically affiliated to the nascent musical movements of the 80s (post-punk, Power electronics, Japanoise, the second wave of industrial music), its brutal, fierce, immediate and multifaceted  nature has never really been part of any particular "musical" style or genre. 

Le Syndicat & Entre Vifs continue to create music that cannot be defined by set perimeters, music that goes beyond that which is commonly known as improvisation.
This process, which we call "reflex piloting", integrates the loss of control and the surprise of generative errors, creating new unexpected sound forms. 
Thanks to specialized tools and adequate training, this process creates abstract, free, wildly unpredictable adventures in sound, even for the musicians (operators) themselves.
Having produced widely varied musical works of electronic music in the course of several decades, Le Syndicat now begins a new chapter in its development with the debut of a new duo, "Le Syndicat Faction Vivante". 
While mainly intended for live action, the new group performs in the studio with the same tactics and intense spontaneity . 
The vast range of our tools, some extremely modern and others totally home-made, allows us to spontaneously develop a multitude of sound forms that exist outside the restrictions of conventionally improvised music. 
Thanks to this equipment and to the intensive practice, we have undergone through several decades, we can free ourselves of all our inbuilt cultural restrictions and accept what can exist in the flow of sound and silence.
The Compact disc "Morceaux de Choix" is a collection of archive performances, culled from numerous sessions, recorded during our intensive sessions. 
These extracts were carefully selected and remain unedited and void of added effects. They are, in a way, an aural museum of our sound curiosities which have been invented in performance during these last three years.

it might have been in the air after raubbau’s extensive box set and the subsequent live performances, it sure has been hoped for by more than a few, and here it is confirmed, the first morthound album in over 20 years: the title somehow gives it away, this is an absorbing exploration of the dark ambient realms, a sometimes outright frightening dip into the pit, yet composed with the expert knowledge of a now seasoned producer. way off the beaten track, morthound returns triumphantly to the fold. so the question is naturally, which of his own traditions as morthound would bj nilsen explore on this comeback - the industrial/noise-heavy, the brute, the cold ambient, the psychedelic, the ritual, or even the academic/experimental attitude of his post-morthound career? the answer is: all of the above, but enveloped in a totally coherent, updated approach, subtly taking up the threads and weaving them into a good 45 minutes of flawless dark atmosphere. the path off the beaten track starts in a tense, minimal and unexpectedly bass-heavy fashion with 'the device', before the epic 'between midnight and dawn' brings in the somber layers of synthetic darkness that are classic morthound; in 'the munich manual' we are confronted with weird off-key elements, and 'disquieted' turns out a malicious death industrial tune seething with distortion; 'disembodied voices' portrays emptiness as sound and 'the black forest' finishes the album with almost harmonious, calming beauty. the challenge of a comeback album after that many years is obviously to handle the balancing act between picking up and respecting your own legacy on the one hand side, and creating something meaningful for the present on the other. with 'off the beaten track the light don't shine' bj nilsen has succeeded in both, created an album that will find avid followers in different generations of listeners, and has all the potential to become a genre classic.

A number of items in the Galakthorrö Catalogue have attracted requests for issues or re-issues to be made available as long-play records. Runaway top of the list is the Magic LP from 2007. Although in those days not specifically released in small quantities, and certainly not the oldest of Galakthorrö offerings, it has become, notwithstanding, an object of desire. Today this LP is rare, hard to find, and changes hands for very large sums of money. In order to give those who were born too late, and any newborn afficionados, the opportunity to possess Magic on Vinyl, we are now able to offer a second issue. It differs from the first pressing with a new design, it leans towards the previous one, but has been extensively re-worked while the sound presentation remains unchanged. Therefore there is now a new chance to hear at last smash-hits such as Street Of Lost Hearts, Magic, or Free, on Vinyl. The best of all ways to hear music.

escued from old DAT tapes, A Strangeness In Motion: Early Pop Recordings 1989-1999 are some of Tor Lundvall’s earliest completed synth pop works which have remained unreleased until now.

“For years I dismissed these songs as naive and youthful relics, but I’ve grown much fonder of them in recent years along with the memories they evoke” Lundvall says of the decade spanning collection of tracks, many of which were sketched out in his synth pop duo with Drew Sullivan, After The Outing. “Original One”, “Procession Day”, “The Clearing”, and “The Melting Hour” are present here as solo reworkings, originally culled from his sessions with Sullivan. The remaining songs were ideas originally considered for Passing Through Alone (1997) and its proposed follow up, provisionally and playfully titled Femalamania.

“The title was summing up my girl problems at the time and also a silly word spin on Robyn Hitchcock's Fegmania!” Lundvall recollects. “Sadly, the project was abandoned—a rare decision for me and perhaps the only time I've scrapped an album entirely.”

Though Lundvall’s work throughout the collection has the recognizable ambient bones and sensibilities he has refined throughout his career, many of the tracks call back to the synth-driven pop of Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark, The Human League and New Order, with the common thread being the sparse density and mood created by reservation and the lonely impulse to twist convention, not to rip it up and repurpose it. Rather than 10 disparate ideas, Lundvall’s curation of A Strangeness In Motion: Early Pop Recordings 1989-1999 feels like excerpts from a broader work, allowing the listener to fill in the holes and ladder up to his larger themes and concepts, perhaps colouring his prior works in new hues and tones.

Few names imply mind-bending, forward thinking heavy electronics like Finnish stalwarts STROM.ec, and with every release, they seem to further stretch the boundaries of what can be a pretty rigid genre, and navigate realms never before seen or heard. Similar things can be said of Norwegian atmospheric heavy weight and Malignant staple, Kristoffer Oustad, whose particular strain of dark ambient and post-industrial soundscapes are incredibly dynamic, at times surreal and cinematic, other times more driving and heavy, but all with a recognizable, highly emotive touch. Put the two together, and you get the debut of their collaborative project, STROMSTAD. Spread out over 8 tracks, this is a dizzying exploration of sound and vocal fury, where mechanized pulsations, writhing frequency oscillations, and grinding machine loops meet stretches of drifting darkness and touches of musicality, suggestive of a future that’s dystopic and bleak on one hand, yet highly innovative and revolutionary on the other.
